{"id":238,"date":"2022-04-07T06:28:21","date_gmt":"2022-04-07T06:28:21","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flow-business-solution.com\/blog\/?p=238"},"modified":"2022-04-05T06:29:00","modified_gmt":"2022-04-05T06:29:00","slug":"bullet-points-to-success","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flow-business-solution.com\/blog\/bullet-points-to-success\/","title":{"rendered":"Bullet Points to Success"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Would you like to know some \u201cbullet points to success\u201d?\u00a0 They will watch over you as you move through your management and leadership career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Do not forget what it was like to be a non-management employee no matter where you go in                                     your career, no matter what you\u2019re doing, no matter who you\u2019re talking with, no matter who\u2019s reporting you and no matter what level you\u2019re at.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you\u2019re at your first level of management, don\u2019t forget what it was like to be a non-management employee.\u00a0 If you are moving up the management level, don\u2019t forget what it was like to be one step back. Be willing to put yourself in their shoes so you can see things from their perspective, so you can determine how they just might think.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Don\u2019t let your tie cut off the flow to your head.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>What that\u2019s really saying is, as you move up the management ladder, as you get more responsibilities, don\u2019t start acting like you forgot the great skills that got you to where you are.\u00a0 When I had my first management job, I had to wear a tie.\u00a0 This is where this came from. Don\u2019t put your tie on so tight that you cut off the flow of blood to your head and you lose your ability to think correctly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>firm, fair, and friendly.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a great one. This is one I received from the first district manager that promoted me.\u00a0 I have used this one my entire career.\u00a0 Your employees are looking for you to be consistent. They want you to be fair and they don\u2019t want their head bit off every time you talk to them.\u00a0 They want to know that when they interact with you, you will interact with them as people with value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These three things, if you are firm, fair and friendly, you will get cooperation, you will get respect and you will get results. Of that, there is no question. Firm, fair and friendly; they\u2019re tools that you can use with anybody.\u00a0 In business you need these three things.\u00a0 I pass them along to you and I challenge you to look at your demeanor, your relationships with people, to be firm, fair, and friendly. Whether it\u2019s your employees, whether it\u2019s your peers, whether it\u2019s the people you report to, whether it\u2019s businesspeople outside of your company, hold onto those three relationship characteristics.\u00a0 They will take you places!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Don\u2019t compromise the values that gave you your opportunity, now or in the future.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You were promoted because you had something valuable, something special.\u00a0 You are successful in business because what you have is valuable. Hold on to them!
